Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and were in communication with the league office.
The team omitted the name of Rice by name in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Allegations Shared on Instagram
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five TDs as the Chiefs went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
