David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
An official for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.
The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
